Posted by Let’s speak geek on Freaks, the 2019 sci-fi/horror/–spoiler– movie from writer/directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein is one of my new favorite films of the year. This little near masterpiece will kill it with word of mouth, since there is a lack of marketing for the theatrical run.
I came in knowing just about nothing – “Emile Hirsh plays a father protecting his daughter from the outside world.” That’s all you should know too. Let the expertly-designed world building inform you piece by piece. Revel in the amazing essentially-newcomer Lexi Kolker hold her own against Hirsh and Bruce Dern. But first, watch my spoiler-free review!
