Posted by Let’s speak geek on the Firefly clan. It’s been 14 years since we saw Captain Spaulding, Baby, and Otis seemingly gunned down to “Free Bird.” In a surprise to everyone, the three survived to return to do the Devil’s work in the still written and directed by Rob Zombie flick.
I’t is not, however, a surprise the follow up film to House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil’s Rejects (2005) has been a divisive film. Just as all Zombie’s films are. While RogerEbert.com awarded it 4 out 4 stars and a Thumbs Up, while the AVClub gives a D+. As of this writing, it has an even 50 on Metacritic! Among my own facebook friends, I’ve seen every response.
This includes the citizens of City of Geek. We had a fine discussion (that I wish I filmed) after the Fathom Events screening on September 17th on the pros and cons of the film. My review is below. Link to Kim’s Review.
