Captain Marvel Trailer Reaction

Here are some quick thoughts:

Brie Larson looks amazing! I mean, I was on board from the second they announced her casting, but it seems like they got a really great fit for the role! Larson looks like she’s going to make Carol Danvers truly come to life on screen. I can’t wait!

The de-aging technology Marvel has been using is absolutely incredible. Samuel L. Jacksom looks like he just emerged from a 1992 time capsule.

The Kree have a presence during the trailer. Comic-wise, their empire is massive and the heart of many cosmic Marvel stories. I’m looking forward to see how their introduction plays out.

Looks to be a partial origin story. Carol falls to Earth and appears to have memories of her past life… maybe setting up for getting more memories returned to her. But the “Secret Invasion” fan in me is hoping for a last-second Skrull twist.

Speaking of Skrulls… they aren’t actually seen in the trailer, but unless Carol is an old-lady punching dick, I’m pretty sure they’ll be involved. The shape-shifting infiltrators definitely intrigue me. Personally, I’m hoping the end of Avengers 4 will set up the “Secret Invasion” – which, for those of you who don’t know, is where the Skrulls took the place of Marvel characters in an attempt to invade Earth. Fingers crossed!

Agent Coulson is back! I’m so glad to see him escape the black hole that is Agents of Shield.

Overall, the trailer definitely delivers on the wait and promises a film packed with fun! I think it definitely has a chance to be really good and lay the groundwork for the next phase of MCU’s cosmic realm. Let’s face it, they’re definitely going to need help after James Gunn’s firing from Guardians.
